St. Matthew Concert Series

We are pleased to announce the following line-up of upcoming concerts to be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. All will in some way involve the Austin pipe organ, one of the ten largest pipe organs in the world. The instrument, has undergone a major five-year renovation, and has been played by many of the world's finest organists. it is notable in the history of organ building. Several recordings have been made on the organ and the instrument can be heard regularly in worship, as well as in concerts, tours for children, Christmas Concerts, bus tours and programs for retirement homes.

    • Joseph Martin and Friends
      Friday, January 12, 2024 - 7:00 pm
      Joseph Martin will be joined by Joel Raney, David Angerman and Sue Martin, along with Steve Roddy at the piano and organ, and a 75-voice choir of choral directors. This concert is part of a two-day event featuring the music of Shawnee Press/Hal Leonard Publishing. The public is invited to this free concert. Tickets at not required.

    • Dr. Carol Williams, Organist, "America's Sweetheart Organist" - Sunday, October 16, 2022 - 4:00 pm
      Carol Williams gives a new experience to the Classical Organ Concert with a diversity, elegance and her very special charismatic humor. Carol's performances have taken her around the world playing all the major instruments. She was also the San Diego "Civic" organist for 16 years, which drew thousands to these outdoor concerts. Carol has played with numerous orchestras and has also performed concerts with jazz, blues, pop and rock bands and has offered a number of performances for charitable organizations.
