The Heifer Project

Heifer Project is a nonprofit organization firmly planted in the idea that we are all responsible for each other. The focus of the resources is providing livestock to small farms in impoverished nations. With the right tools, training, and livestock, these small farms can be transformed, and are the key to feeding the entire world.

The life of the project is "Passing On The Gift;" for each livestock that a family receives, they agree to pass on the offspring of that animal to another person in need.

While St. Matthew has been supporting the Heifer Project for many years, in 2012, we accepted a challenge to purchase an Ark of animals, which costs $5,000. The response to this challenge was overwhelming, and in that year, we raised $15,000, and were able to purchase 3 Arks! Over the course of 3 years, we have raised $20,000, and purchased 4 Arks to help with the cause of feeding the entire world!!
