Sunday Morning Adult Learning Opportunities

The pandemic has affected our Sunday School Classes. Please check with the church office at (717) 637-7101 to find out more about any changes which have been made to the schedule.

Expand your knowledge of the Bible and deepen your faith in one of our Adult Classes!
St. Matthew has three adult classes which meet on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15 am.  Each has a different style and topic, so you’re sure to find one that best suits your interests.  Visit each of our classes and stay with one or move around throughout the year as you desire.

Fellowship:

If you enjoy singing hymns, this class is for you! Meeting in the Parlor adjacent to the Gathering Place where coffee is served between worship services, this class uses the Augsburg Bible Study to center their Bible study each week.

Generations:

Find this diverse group of adults in the Lounge in the Administration Building.  They use an online resource entitled “The Wired Word,” which is sent by email to each participant several days prior to Sunday.  Each has two topics, drawn from current events, to discuss.  Bible texts related to the topic are included.

In-Depth Class:

This class strives to apply God’s word in our everyday lives.  They meet in room 301 in the Youth Building, located to the rear of the main church building.

All of the above classes meet each week from 9:15 to 10:15 am.  Mix and match, trying out one or more of the classes. Find one you especially enjoy and invite others to join you!

Other Adult Education opportunities are available as well. SAW includes a Bible study during the Activity time from 6:30 to 7:10 pm every Wednesday. Women of the ELCA meets in the Lounge for Bible study on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm, except in March, June, September, and December. Visit our Fellowship page for many more learning opportunities.

There are often short-term studies offered on various days of the week. Consult our News page, the Messenger, or the weekly worship bulletin for more information.
