St. Matthew Offers a Place for Everyone

Our Groups

Women of the ELCA Bible Study

Meets the first Tuesday of most months in the Upper Room on the 2nd floor of the church building. They discuss the Bible study found in “gather,” the Women of the ELCA monthly magazine. Their share fellowship and plan projects such as Personal Care Kits to support refugees in many different countries.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

A Few of Our Regular Activities

Caroling to Shut-ins

We share our cheer to these special people on a Sunday evening, usually the week before Christmas.  Hot chocolate follows.

Hanging of the Greens

Decorating the church for Christmas.  Held in mid December on Sunday afternoon with supper afterward.

Snack Town Street Fair (formerly Dutch Days)

In 2025 we hit the street and the parking lot from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year, in partnership with the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce, we were proud to host a FREE Kid Zone as a gift to the community made possible by generous sponsor Atomic Bounce House and our church’s commitment to hospitality. Our Evangelism Team manned the table on the street in front of the church, ready to greet neighbors with a smile, and Hanover Against Hunger was nearby serving up ice cream and sharing their mission!
