Children and Youth Choir Update
St. Matthew is pleased to announce our plans for the Children and Youth Choirs this fall. Lindsay Amspacher, a board-certified music therapist and music enrichment teacher for toddlers and preschoolers, will be working with the preschool and primary choirs. She is excited to be working with the children this upcoming church year and can be contacted at Lindsay.amsgacher@gmail.com if you have any question at all about the program.
Deb Smith will be working with the Junior Choir and Youth Music program, as well as continuing with the Mini Ministers Puppet Ministry. Deb is a retired music teacher from the Hanover Public School District with 34 years teaching experience. Please feel free to contact her at musicmamal@comcast.net.
Following is the rehearsal schedule, which will begin on October 5, except for Junior Choir and handbells, which will begin on September 20, and the Youth Music Ministry and Spirit Singers, which will rehearse as needed.
Rehearsals:
- Primary Choir (grades 1st and 2nd):
Thursdays from 4:15-5:00 - Preschool Choir (ages 3, 4,5, Kindergarten-children must be age 3 by September 1):
Thursdays from 5:15-5:55 - Junior Choir and Handbells (grades 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th,7th, 8th):
Wednesdays from 4:30-5:15/ - Youth Music Ministry (grades 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th,12th):
Rehearse as needed. Any youth interested in playing an instrument or singing should fill out the registration form below. We are looking for youth solos, duets, groups. - Spirit Singers (post high school):
