The Choirs at St. Matthew

Choirs for Children and YouthAll children and youth age 3-grade 8
Choirs rehearse:

Preschool Music Makers (ages 3, 4, 5 & kindergarten) -
Thursdays 6:15-7:00pm
Primary Choir (Grades 1 & 2) - Wednesdays 4:20-5:00pm
Junior Choir (Grades 3, 4, 5, 6,7,8) - Wednesdays 4:45-5:30pm

Registration forms have been mailed to call children and youth of the church. If you have not received one, please contact the church office at 717-637-7101. All children and youth, ages 3 through 8th grade, are invited to participate in these lively groups.

Family Choir

We have been delighted with our 100+ voice family choir! This group is open to all families - moms, dads, children, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters. We sing several times a year with just one or two rehearsals, usually on Sunday mornings at 10:15. Rehearsal CD's are provided for home family rehearsals.

Spirit Singers

Women, Grades 7-12 - Rehearses as scheduled. Please contact the church office if you are interested in this choir.

The Adult Choir

Call the church office today if you feel called to offer your talents in this ministry. The adult choir is an important element of our worship and evangelism. Did you know over half of our church's new members tell us they were attracted to St. Matthew because of the music ministry? You make a real difference here. Please take this to prayer. Rehearsals are held on Thursdays from 8-9:15 pm in the adult rehearsal room.

Mini-Minister Puppets

Grades 6-12- The puppets rehearse in Fellowship Hall usually on Saturday mornings. Please consider joining this important and fun ministry of our church! If you have any questions, contact Deb Smith, 717-633-9787.

Sunday Praise Singers and Instrumentalists

This group offers "contemporary" music for our Sunday worship about once a month. The membership, which changes based on the participants' availability and schedules, is open to youth and adults. Call the church office if you can assist with this ministry.

Handbells

Our fine handbell choir rehearses each week on Thursday night from 7:00-8:00 pm and presents music in worship throughout the year, rings concerts and sometimes attends handbell festivals with numerous handbell choirs. Call the church office if you have an interest in ringing.

Men’s Chorus

This ensemble sings in worship several times a year. The chorus is open to all St. Matthew men. The chorus rehearses as needed usually on Thursday evenings prior to singing in worship. CD's are provided for home study. Call the church office for additional information.

Instrumentalists

Instrumentalists are welcome to offer their talents as soloists or with other players for preludes or as called for in music with a choir or soloist.
