The Organ Renovation

The Organ was showing signs of its age, and various problems were detected due to water damage from roof leaks. After extensive study, it was determined by the music staff, the Church Council, and then the congregation, that the instrument needed to be totally renovated. The total $1.3 million dollar renovation is being done by the Austin Organs, Inc. During the renovation, all wiring will be replaced, thousands of pipes are to be cleaned, re-built and re-voiced as needed, a new balcony antiphonal division will be installed, the chamber walls will be sealed, and air chests rebuilt. A new console and operating system was built and installed in April of 2014. The organ renovation is expected to continue until 2016 when the organ will be re-dedicated.
