Meal Packing Fund Raising Exceeds 60% of Goal

With yet a month to go, fund raising efforts to support the Bi-Annual Hanover Area Meal Packing Event are progressing well. Event Chairman, Doug West, reports that the committee has already received donations to reach 62% of the total goal of raising $29,029 in order to pack 100,000 meals on November 3, 2018. The Meal Packing event is part of Rise Against Hunger, an international organization that feeds the hungry through school feeding programs, orphanages and disaster relief.

The number of meals volunteers are able to pack on November 3 is directly dependent upon the success of local fundraising efforts. So little does so much. Every 29¢ raised pays for one meal. $2.90 feeds ten. $29.00 feeds 100. $290 feeds 1,000.

Local businesses, service clubs, churches and community residents have been supporting the event through donations at Hundreds have also registered to help pack that different. Community members are encouraged to visit the project web site for more information at
