Meal Packing Event Fund Raising Begins

On November 3, 2018, the greater Hanover Community will come together once more to pack meals in this effort. But the goal for this effort is $29,000 and 100,000 meals packed, all in ONE DAY!

An organizing committee headed by Hanoverian Doug West, who has been involved in the previous Rise Against Hunger events, has been working for the last three months to lay the groundwork for the event. Thus far the committee has raised $3,709, or 13% of the $29,000 goal.

Committee volunteers have spoken to members of the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce; contacted local churches to involve them; as well as developed donation boxes and information displays for local businesses. Plans are being drafted for student involvement through the athletic directors of the three local high schools.

“We encourage everyone to consider registering to help pack the meals on November 3rd,” West stated. “It’s a fun time for all involved, plus there is a deep sense of satisfaction in knowing that you have helped feed those who are truly hungry and in need of help.”
